BRENT JAMES
TO PERFORM AT FARM AID
FIRST SINGLE, “MOMENT OF SILENCE”
#52 ON BILLBOARD’S HOT AC CHART
On Saturday, September 22, Brent James and The Contraband will perform at the 2012 Farm Aid concert in Hershey, PA. Touring in support of his debut CD, Moment of Silence, James says, “I’m truly humbled to be included in Farm Aid 2012. To be part of such a great cause is a dream come true.” All Access calls Moment of Silence “a breath of fresh air” and the title track continues to climb up the Billboard Hot AC chart.
Having toured with the likes of Alice Cooper, Candlebox and Ted Nugent, James is excited to be performing on The Homegrown stage at Farm Aid. The 2012 lineup will include Willie Nelson and fellow board members John Mellencamp, Neil Young and Dave Matthews, as well as Jack Johnson. Farm Aid’s Homegrown Village will give concertgoers a chance to meet farmers, engage in hands-on food and farm activities and learn about the ways family farmers are enriching our soil, protecting our water and growing our economy, in addition to bringing us good food for good health.
Brent James knew from an early age exactly what he wanted. It started with singing songs with his mother in the front seat of their car, “growing up, there was never any shortage of amazing music playing,” says James. “My parents had unbelievable taste. They introduced me to all the greats.” He began writing songs at the age of 9, telling his parents he would “move to New York City and become a singer one day.” James has come a long way since then, having headlined at venues like Mercury Lounge and Rockwood Music Hall. Time Out NY says of James’ live show, “He grips the mic like a last call vodka, truly an amazing stage presence.”
