Have you ever heard some real “Cerebral Groovalicious Existential Sacred Fusion Rock?” That’s how Venice Gas House Trolley likes to describe their music, and as you can probably tell, these guys are far from typical. Their style of “flow poetry” is unique, and their combined sense of groove keeps you engaged with the music while listening to the words. VGHT is just coming off their Spring 2012 “Intimately Aware” midwest tour and is now back in their hometown of Madison, WI. They have played a number of festivals including The Tall Tree Lake Music Festival (Goreville, IL), The Muddy River Jam Fest (Woodstown, NJ), The Overgrown Music & Arts Festival (Belmont, NY), The Michigan Peace Fest (Lacota, MI), The 40th Annual Midwest Harvest Fest (Madison, WI) and over 200 performances from Wisconsin to New York City. Check out a couple tracks from their latest record, Burst Open.
Since music is an art, people always have new ways of creating it and interpreting it. Venice Gas House Trolley is organically delivering a new music experience for the listener. With funky, groovy fusion rock, the band creates a solid vibe to support the spoken word that inevitably determines what the audience thinks about during the song. It’s a very unique genre that many people aren’t used to, but I think most poetry fans and/or jam band junkies will dig this music.
Venice Gas House Trolley is currently in the studio working on some new material, and I think you’re going to like it. Here’s a sneak peak at their next album to be released late summer/early fall.
